Course Structure
Session 1 – Pivot tables and more advanced functions
• Review of prerequisite knowledge for this course
• Pivot Tables & Charts: Create, edit, report and format Pivot Tables/Charts.
• Advanced Functions: Logical Functions, SUMIF, COUNTIF, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, etc.
• Workgroup Tools: Resolving conflicts, merging changes from a shared workbook
• Names, Views, Scenarios & Reports: storing data displays, Report Manager
Session 2 – Macro’s, basic VBA programming and MS Query
• “Macros”: Recording and running a Macro, visual basic editor, basic VBA programming
• What-if Analysis: Goal Seeker, The Solver, Data Tables
• Efficiency tools: Using Outlining to hide columns and rows, create and modify styles
• MS Query and importing text: Extracting data using MS Query, importing data from Text files
• Excel and web use: Save workbooks as web pages, web queries
