Take one more step | How important the local working experience is?

Updated: Jul 17, 2019

At the beginning of this June, Yangshu, our finance master student studying in Boston received three-month internship offer from a local investment bank.

“I first approached Ecare Careers when I just finished all the college project. Back then, I wanted to search internship opportunities in summer holidays. When I was studying as a undergraduate in China, I participated business analysis competition, summer program leaded by big-four accounting firms in Hong Kong, and long-distance internship for an investment bank based in New York.

Since the US employment situation is becoming grim for overseas students, I would recommend you to pay attention to internship and job hunting in advance. My senior school mates told me that it would be better for me if I could have relevant overseas experience before I graduate. One of my friends who finished his bachelor degree here received a full-time job offer directly from his internship company. Considering that I only have three semesters in total, I guess I'd better fully utilize this holiday time by doing a local internship. Apart from applying for several companies by myself, I approached Ecare Careers for help.

They were really effective and reliable after all. I saw the position posted by the consultant. After I communicating my past experience and expectation, she anticipated that I am qualified to the position. Furthermore, she recommended two other firms' positions to me. Eventually, I received the offer from the HR within only a week; and my internship will start from next week! Now the details relating to my job such as commuting were all confirmed with the company. My major tasks involve industrial analysis, preparation for report, and assisting for business development manager to liaise with clients."
